Borage

Borage

$6.50 — Sold out

Borage has amazing edible blue star-like flowers and the leaves are edible as well when young. It's best grown in spring and summer. I find it my best plant for bees and orchard insects - the flowers are abundant and the bees really gravitate to them, so it really encourages good pollination of other plants like zucchini and cucumber.
Grow in trays in spring and autumn (warm areas) and plant one month later.
Flowers can be used as garnishes in drinks, salads and cakes! Or just looking pretty and helping out in the garden - when it goes to seed, you'll probably just get self-sown plants the following year as the seeds scatter about naturally.
